;; personality
general;;
Jacen is a predator by nature, as well as a warrior. However, he favors the subtlety and seduction over war and violence to achieve his ends. A firm believer of the ends always justifying the means, Jacen is an opportunist, always looking for way to get whatever he desires.
Being a vampire, he is often hated and deemed a creature of the devil, if not the devil himself. Unfortunately, this has made his view of humanity on a slightly bitter note. While he is fascinated with their ways and lives, he is repelled by the hypocrisy and unacceptance they spew towards him and his kind. Though he would never admit it, Jacen envies the humans, as they can have companionship and willingly. Jacen, as a vampire and refusing to pass his curse, is unable to have such attachment.
Not one for politics, Jacen will often be seen using other forms, such as gossip or false information to learn things of others.
Believing himself to have the spirit of a phoenix, Jacen will often pick and choose his own battles, believing that to thrive and burn, he must know when to fight and when to step aside.
When driven to the point of battle, Jacen becomes a force to be reckoned with. Imbued with his vampiric powers, Jacen is a match for any human and nearly any supernatural creature in Transylvania. Despite his lone wolf attitude, Jacen will not hesitate to save those who learn to trust him and those he trusts.

;; origins
general
Jacen was born in London, England, though the year is unknown. He was the youngest of five children and was thus viewed as the weaker. During his time in England, he was an apprentice to a musican, whom taught him the art of theatre and it's involvement. He would often climb to the top of his family's roof and serenade his family member to sleep with his violin.
At the age of 21, Jacen had the honor to perform as an actor and muscian in a small tavern. His family disagreed with his choice to pursue the arts, hating him and regretting his existence. His mother was the only one who supportted him and would often sit with her window open so she could hear her son play at night. On this night, however, she was unable to go, as she had been sick for a number of months. After his performance, Jacen raced home to tell his mother, hoping the news would cheer her up. It was then that a pair of hands grabbed him and dragged him into the night.
When Jacen awoke, he was tired and weak. It was then that the man who had kidnapped him appeared. The man wore dark clothes and appeared to be in his forties. His name was Hector Gorimor. Demanding to be released, Jacen weakly fought the man, which only further pleased Hector. Admitting that he was a vampire, Hector quickly forced the gift onto Jacen, practically killing himself in doing so. Because of this, Jacen progressed alot faster than most vampires in his resurrection and power.
Upon his awakening, Jacen was terrified of what had happened. Fleeing as fast as he could, Jacen returned to his neighbourhood, but could not bring himself to let his mother see him like this. Returning to the alleys, he accidently ran into his older brother, Gillian, who was raping a young woman. Unable to control the anger and sudden thurst, Jacen bit into his brother's wrist, then his neck and shoulder, killing him while consuming his blood. It was with horror that Jacen came to full terms of who and what he was. The Lucifer's had a bad enough name with the name of Satan as their last. To have a descendent be a vampire would be the nail in the coffin. Preparing to leave London, he was aided by Hector and, though Jacen hated him, the two traveled all over England, Jacen discovering some of his powers as he went. Two years after his resurrection, Jacenwas well versed in the way of the vampire. He was able to read people's minds, could travel great distances at amazing speeds, and could transform into a dark purple mist. He also learned his weaknesses, such as an intense fire and the sun. However, one day, while resting, he received a dream that his mother was in pain. Without a word, he rushed to find her, almost killing himself due to physical strain to do it. Arriving through her window, Jacen knelt down by her bedside, holding her hand in his. Awakening, his mother was relieved to see her sun again. Saying a few words to him about her love for him and her wish to see him live and thrive, Jacen confided in her where he had been and what he had become. To his surprise, his mother did not care. Embracing her son, she asked him to play her one last song on his violin. Slowly, Jacen picked up the instrument his mother had retrieved and played the last serenade she would hear. She died just as he finished.
Overcome with grief, Jacen stood there with her until the sun began to rise, ready to die along with his mother. As the sunbeams hit him, Jacen felt no burning sensation or utter pain. Instead, he felt just the warm heat. Unable to contemplate what had happened, he called for Hector, who was there in moments. Smirking, he revealed that each vampire was different. Because Jacen was unable to transform into a demon, he had been granted slight relief from the sun. He would not burn immediately. Rather, Jacen could survive in the daylight for one day without resting. If he had to go longer without rest, his body would start to burn and become injured and pained, a double effect Hector called Sun Poisoning and Heat Sickness.
A hundred years later, Jacen and Hector were hunted by the Knights of the Holy Order. To save Jacen's life, Hector hid Jacen underground in a vast labrynth under a large theatre. Unable to stand the sounds of his dying master, Jacen ran for his life, travelling numerous lands and oceans. Stumbling through the land, filled with grief with the loss of his mother and now his master, Jacen paid no mind to his exposure to the sun. After the second night of travelling, he was attacked by a pair of werewolves. Due to his weakened state, he was no match for them and was left for dead. Crawling to a shelter, he was able to rest and avoid the sun, barely surviving the whole experience. Awakening the next night, Jacen had come to terms with what he was and what would happen for his immortality. Leaving the shelter, he made his way down a path and through the woods until he reached a small town that he had only heard about in brief passing...;;

*From Jacen's last moment with his mother*
I watched as her hand tightened around mine, as if it was the only real thing she believed in. Slowly, her eyes fluttered open and she looked at me. I wasn't sure if it was the candlelight or just me, but her eyes shone when I beheld them.
Elizabeth: My son...My beautiful Jacen.
With a strength that surprised me, I felt her hand tighten and draw me to her. I was threatened by tears that came to my eyes as she embraced me, her loving touch the one thing I had missed since my resurrection.
Jacen: I've come home, mother. I've come home.
I didn't mean it. How could I? Who would accept me now? I had left the family, killed my own brother, and now had the audacity to say I was going to stay with her?
As if seeing through me, my mother merely smiled and shook her head.
Elizabeth: No, my son. There is nothing more for you here. I can see it in your eyes. You have seen things, you have learned. And I am so proud of you...
I could not deny her words. I had done in a short time what had lasted 21 years of dreaming. But she had to know, she just had to know before I lost her forever...
Jacen: Mother...I am more than what you think I am.
I had to stop as I heard her cough and wheeze, her strength dimishing at every moment. Her eyes, however, never left mine as the light of their amber transformation reflected in hers. Instead of fear, though, I only saw mild curiosity.
Elizabeth: How?
Jacen: The night of my performance. I was attacked and taken to a place I dont know where. I refused him mother, with my last human breath I refused him but he changed me anyway. I'm not...
I looked away, unable to see the shame in her eyes. Instead of it, though, I felt her hand press against my cheek, guiding me to see her face again.
Elizabeth: You are more than what either of us have dreamed, Jacen. Do not hate what destiny has given you.
My mind was working a mile a minute. She had accepted me, still loved me. I could save her then, I could make her one of us and have her be by my side forever! My mind swim with the delicious thoughts. I could give her everything she deserved. She must have seen the thoughts in my eyes, for she gently smiled and shook her head.
Elizabeth: No, Jacen.
I could not believe my ears! What was she saying?!
Jacen: But I could save you. I could show you the world I have seen. Oh think of it mother! We could be free together! I could show you so much-
Her hand slowly went up to press itself against my lips, silencing me immediately.
Elizabeth: If I were younger, Jacen, I would accept it. I could never deny you anything, my son. But I have to this time. I want to die. It's...It's my time...
I could not accept that. Not when I had mastered my own death and could easily master hers. There was nothing to gain from death. My way offered eternal life! And wonders beyond what the human mind could create. How could she refuse that...
Jacen: I cannot lose you, mother...How will...How will I live on?!
Elizabeth: You always have before, Jacen. You haven't needed me in a long time.
Jacen: That's not true! I always thought of you. For years I wanted to come back, wanted to tell you everything!
Elizabeth: Jacen...it's too late. My time is nearer.
I grasped her hand tightly, praying to whatever god there was to let me breathe life back into her.
Elizabeth. Jacen...let me hear you one last time...what I missed all those years ago.
With as much strength as she mustered, she ran her hand towards a box on her nightstand. Grasping it, I opened it to reveal my violin. The same violin I thought I had lost when Hector abducted me. With a slow sigh, I picked up the violin, my hands dancing into position. I heard her breath become shallow as I played the first note. I saw the smile on her face as she closed her eyes and I hit the crescendo...
And I felt her leave me when I played the final chord...
