Darkness enfolded the playground and all the kiddies had gone home for the night however Effy had planned her return. A Christian at hear she was somewhat wayward in how she followed the rules of the religion. Nowhere in the bible did it speak of such evils and vampires and whatnot which lead her to believe maybe some things weren't mentioned. They forgot to mention some things then maybe they lied of a few others. Effy's stallion Riot stamped carefully into the playground. The small girl slipped from him. Her form clad in a tight pair of black pants and a black vest like top. All was covered by a long black cloak, hood drawn over her head to hide that bright red hair of hers.
Swiftly moving to the school building she managed to climb through the window and managed to slip back out unnoticed. In her hand this time though she held a blade, according to her teacher it was not custom to bring weapons into the class room. After having it confiscated she knew she would return to get it. Walking back into the playground it seemed Riot had wandered off. Hearing something overhead she jumped a little however placed it down to a bird. A low whistle and she awaited her stallion to emerge. [/size]

"Oh bother, I can barley see a thing," Dawn complained walking down the road to the school house. It was a long walk from Zoltin's house to here, but Dawn had her reasons for going out at such a ridicules hour. For once the moon can be seen even though clouds covered the stars. She wore a gray dress with a high neck and long sleeves with cuffs and a corset over it and a jacket over that. In her hand was a leather bound book that she used as her personal journal and wear she had made many field notes or many things. It was wear her thoughts poured out and wear she took note of things she learned and even what she felt.
Tonight she was out for a special flower, a midnight blossom. They were hard to find and only bloomed at night when hit by the moon. Dawn believed she had found a patch of them when she was out on the playground earlier that day. Most here with there believes of vampires wouldn't even think of leaving there houses, and Zoltin had even forbidden her to do so, but Dawn was a reasonable person. It wasn't a scientifically possible for creatures like vampires to exist.
When she finally arrived at the school house she thought she heard something toward the playground. Dawn tiptoed toward the noise carefully hiding behind available trees when possible. She noticed a cloak figure emerging from the school house window and studied the figure. In it's hand was a familiar weapon. "Is that Effy?" Dawn whispered to herself. Her classmate had the weapon confiscated during school earlier that day, and Dawn knew if she had something important confiscated she would have came back too.
Dawn's ears pricked hearing a galloping sound. "Hmmm," she said turning around. A horse raced past her toward the figure Dawn had guessed was her classmate. Dust had fogged the horse's path so she couldn't see the rock in front of her or know of it until she made contact. With a small gasp she fell forward and into view of Effy. Dawn was never graceful, and always to fall down which horribly clashed with the rest of her personality. She stood up and pushed back a strand of hair from her face. "Hey Effy," she greeted her. "I meant to do that," she added.

Effy's pulse was pounding until she relaxed to hear the pounding hooves of her heavy stallion pelt towards her. A smile drifted over her lips as a pale hand reached out as she stroked along his broad back. "Riot what were you getting up to?" The horse just nudged her with his heavy head and she giggled a little trying to keep her balance. The stallion didn't know his own strength, she had owned him since he was a tiny colt however he seemed to just keep growing, she was clueless to his breed but the brute was massive to say the least.
Placing a hand to the horses head she hushed him for a moment stopping his movements. Hearing a rustle and then a heavy thud Effy held her blade at the ready to attack whatever nasty fell from the bushes. However there was no need as she saw that it was just a girl, a school girl and a friend. A friend who...she had never actually seen out this time before. Looking rather confused she slipped her blade into her boot and pulled down her hood. Glancing around quickly she made sure nothing was about although she almost wished a nasty little vampire would pop up. Just so she could finally show her that they were real.
Giving the stallion a quick pat Effy pulled off her cloak and draped it over the stallions back. Wandering over to Dawn she couldn't help but be amused at the girl's trip. "Dawn, are you alright?" Getting closer she smiled sweetly. "What are you doing out this time?" She frowned a warning to her classmate. Of course Effy knew of the dangers however sometimes the smart girl that was her friend could be so...frustrating.
Tilting her head lightly she quickly turned to make sure Riot still stood in his place. He pawed at the ground getting a little edgy from being forced to wait around for too long. Turning back to the girl she gave her a slight smile however glanced overhead..just to check.
[[we should so get a vampire to join this later on lol]] [/blockquote]

((Hehe, that would be fun))
To Dawn's annoyance Effy had seemed amused at her fall. She always was, but Dawn still liked Effy. She wasn't like everyone else here. She had the same believes in monsters sadly, but apart from that she just seemed more happy and lively rather then the rest of the people she met here and absolutely odd in her own way that made her so different. Such as bringing a weapon to school. "Of course," Dawn said and brushed off the dirty from her corset. Dawn ignored Effy's warning frown and gave her a small smirk. "Well I could ask you the same thing, but I can perfectly see what you were doing," Dawn said with a small giggle. "But I can't blame you, if my book was taken away I would have done the same," Dawn added.
"But if you must know, I wanted to get a specimen of a plant called midnight blossom, only blooms at night," Dawn explained. She heard rumors that it was absolutely beautiful and she had thought of maybe even pressing one for her mother back in England. She might not get along with her mother all the time, but that didn't mean she didn't love her or her father. Noticing that Effy glanced over her shoulders, she turned around to see what she was looking at but saw nothing. "What are you looking at?" she asked the red head curiously. "Please don't say vampires Effy," Dawn moan. She liked Effy allot, closet thing to a friend she had since being here, even though they might butt heads on subjects a lot mostly the existence of monsters. Yet it was a strange and fun challenge to try to proof the other who was right and who was wrong.

Effy smiled brightly at the girl as she mentioned why Effy had come here. "Ah but a book in theory is useless for sneaking into a school at night for. I needed my blade so there was good cause for it and they can't put be down for another sin." She smirked a little. "An Effy without her protection would be a...head without a brain." Nodding quickly at her brilliant comment, she did however realize how truly lame it was and she even found herself raising a brow to her own silly little comment.
Looking at the girl as if she had just kicked a small child she actually made a note of how crazy her friend was. Raising a brow she almost couldn't believe that she would come out in the dead of night for that. "You came out when it was this dark...just to find a flower? Gosh and I thought you were sane." Effy teased with a small smile.
Glancing down at Dawn as she spoke Effy laughed a little, of course she was. Was it that obvious. However she thought she could play a game, made Dawn really think she was crazy. "Nope, all the pixies come out at this time. Nasty little things, they fly over your head and then chew your ankles until your feet fall off." Her expression was perfectly serious as she spoke.

((*shrugs* Cool with me))
Dawn hugged her book to her chest as Effy replied about getting her weapon. It was a confusing one, something about a book was most likely useless and a weapon wasn't, then something about not being counted as a sin. "You might say a book is not worth taking back, but books are knowledge, and knowledge is power. A weapon is very useful tool, but if your opponent can outsmart you, well so much for blades," Dawn said with a pleased smirk. It was really humorous when you compared the two girls. In a way Effy stood for bronze, and Dawn brain. Then again opposites attract as well. Sometimes Dawn would think about both or there differences and similarities, and she couldn't help but think that if there was a story with two heroines like them it would be an interesting read.
"What?" Dawn said in an innocent tone as Effy gave her this dumbfounded and questioning look. She chuckled at her comment. When she put it so bluntly it did sound silly, but Dawn stood by her actions. "I told you it only blooms at night so I didn't have a choice," she told her. In a since she did, but when Dawn had something in her sight she reached her hands to it and wouldn't pull back until she grasped her goal in her palms. "Besides you do some things too that I wouldn't put in the 'sane' category," Dawn replied giving her a knowing small. Lets face it neither of the girls were average girls by socially accepted standards, but then how boring would they be. "Considering your out too, do you want to help me find them? I was sure I saw some buds around her earlier, but my memory is blurry," Dawn said. Sometimes the smarty pants was a very distant and anti-social person, but she liked doing things with people she considered friends. And on another note, if any wild animals tried anything, Effy had that very nice sword.
"Pixies?" Dawn spoke studying Effy's face. She acted serious about it too. It was hard to tell, she believed in vampires and werewolves, pixies wouldn't be that far off. The elders really just corrupted the minds of the young here. "You can't be serious, really?" she added further studying her face for maybe a small smile of betray, but there was none. "First vampires, werewolves, monsters, and now pixies, you Transylvanians are so unrealistic sometimes," Dawn said in a tired tone. A moment later and a thought came to her. She didn't believe in mystical creatures, but she did read a lot of folklore when she was little and of course had been reading up on some lately to better understand the people here. In all her knowledge she knew pixies were not pleasant creatures and were very mischievous, but they were never violent. "Wait a second!" Dawn said catching on. "Oh your horrible Effy, I almost believed you were really looking for faeries," Dawn said in a angry voice. She didn't like the fact that she had really fallen for it so easily, but it was hard not too when she had held such a straight face.

Effy raised a brow, she didn't totally believe that stories could help out a fight, really what post of a novel unless giving clear instructions in fighting techniques could you read to learn of it. Of course reading was handy and Effy wasn't exactly illiterate. In fact she read a d**n sight more than some of the people in their class but she wasn't half as avid with her reading as Dawn. It almost put her to shame yet saying that had Dawn slaughtered many werewolves? But was that even a talent many would want? Of course not, most ran from these creatures but Effy had a funny little fascination with them. Effy would be much more likely to strike up a conversation with a vampire than run from it, of course there was the fear of them being able to snap you in half but Effy figured if they were going to then that was that. The girl missed a whole lot of school due to her wanderings, she would have no idea of time or day of the week sometimes when she would go walking. Sometimes just walking days because she had heard of an abandoned church near or a strange cave in a weird shape. Of course do document her findings the girl had the most amazing sketches, books full of them she was highly talented at recording the places. They were in brilliant detail though not all too many people showed much interest in her strange works.
Effy still gave her a rather strange look. She couldn't possibly think of a worse reason to come out at this time, but then again Effy didn't find flowers beautiful. They were a painfully obvious pretty thing, she hated things like that. The girl would find a creature that had the ability to kill with one bite, a derelict building that had the ability the fall at any moment. These things were beautiful, maybe not to the obvious eye but in such a way it made the strange girl's skin tinge. Her teacher would often ask where she had been, at the answer of her walking days just to get to an old building that took her fancy the teacher would scoff whilst the children would all giggle. Her family were well respected but Effy had little respect, she wasn't quite ready to be suited to anyone, she had odd ways, unconventional looks and most of all her sexuality was a mess, she even found herself with a certain fondness to not only females but those that weren't alive, vampires. That pale beauty was just amazing. Of course the latter she would keep to herself unless considered a friend. "You need a new hobby." She was obviously joking and glanced around. "Alright I'll help. You can find it with your brains and I shall retrieve it with my...amazing strength." Effy hardly ever took much seriously.
With a gentle nod to confirm she was being serious her eyes turned up to the sky again. Well, she was rather good at this. It must have been all those years of little white lies to her Father. As the girl seemed to figure out her little lie Effy grinned brilliantly after holding it back so long. She giggled rather sweetly and shrugged. "It is not my fault you outsiders are so gullible sometimes." Her words chimed in mockery of Dawn's own and Effy even managed a childish sticking out her tongue to back it up. "Sorry. Couldn't resist. Right, so what does this special flower look like?"

On the comment on a new hobby Dawn squinted her eyes and circled her lips into a a frown. "Right new hobby, forgot about all the other fun things to do around here," she said. She then made a small chuckle. Truthfully, Dawn thought this place was the most dull dead place ever. I mean the men drank, women cleaned the house, there was barely anything to do here. On the streets of England there was so many places to go and things to do, here it was limited by the town's folks own fear of their shadows. Then again that was a challenge set before her now was it, to find thing fun to do when she didn't have something to read. Dawn placed her right fist on her hips, and held her book in her right. "Great, we'll find some specimen in no time," Dawn said with a grin. She had to hand it to Effy, she didn't know what but she smiled more around her more then she did when she wasn't around.
"Oh you," Dawn said pouting her lips and giving Effy a hard poke in the side. "I'm not gullible, it's just so hard when everyone here is scared of there shadow," Dawn said defending herself. She sounded lame, but she couldn't let being called 'gullible' lay without some sort of reply. Just how down was. She wasn't egotistic or anything, she was just had to much pride for her own good. Dawn tried to remember the descriptions she heard of the flower. "Well there a light blue and bioluminescence and I believe they have 5 petals," she recalled with a finger at the edge of her lip as she thought about what else she might need to add. "So we need to look for a blue light. I don't know if it's bright or faint since the plant is very hard to fine and has never been recorded well from what I read," Dawn added. She linked arms with Effy and tugged her along with her. She stopped suddenly and had a look like she forgot to consider something. "Will your horse be alright here unattended? Pixies might not chew peoples ankles, but they are known for stealing horses," Dawn said with a teasing smile.

[/blockquote]Effy laughed lightly and grinned. "Ah this place isn't all bad, you've just got to find your own entertainment. I'm rather skilled in that area especially with such a hectic family. You should come down some time, I'll show you around the place if my Father isn't working." A soft smile against her pale expression slowly faded into a light frown. "I may not be there for the next few days though." Shrugging it off lightly she planned on spending a short period with a certain strange being. A vampire she had recently met had invited the girl to live with her, as a sort of motherly figure however Effy was going along with it out of sheer curiosity. Her need for entertainment and danger obviously outreached many others in the village, most would have screamed and run the moment they saw a vampire but Effy was an odd little one. There was no screaming or running. The girl had a nice conversation instead.
Effy nodded lightly. "Not everyone is but the majority yeah. It's not their fault really, wouldn't you be paranoid if you were one of those who believed in the stories, in Dracula and his brides." A light smile played across her lips. Of course Effy was one of those who did believe, she had evidence. With smile she glanced around. "Alright, should be easy enough." Turning back to glance at her stallion she laughed and shook her head. "How are you now the expert of dark creatures? He'll be fine, just wanders about until I call him back. Riot can take Pixies easily." [/blockquote][/size]

The idea of dropping by Effy's home interested her. From what she heard the Vandiest family was an interesting bunch. The more she thought of it the more positive she was sure she would do it. "I'll might do that," Dawn said before noticing a small frown on her companion's face. She raised an eyebrow wondering why she was. When she told her she wouldn't be there for a few days Dawn was even more curious. Not that she was nosy, even though she, but because she cared for the red head. "Why? Where will you be?" Dawn asked her voice betraying her by showing concern.
When Effy asked if she would be paranoid if she believed in the vampire Dracula and his brides. She honestly thought about it for a moment looking up at the sky. "I guess I might, I do not know. I mean now that I think of them they are pretty frightful, but I guess its hard for me to put my feet in the shoes of the believers considering I'm just never been one to be easily frighten. But I probably would be the same as everyone here if I was raised in this environment. Thank god I'm an English women," Dawn said her voice in such a calm thoughtful tone. She kind of lost herself in thoughts easily, but many writers were like that even the down to earth ones.
"I might not be a believer, but that doesn't stop me from reading folklore," Dawn answered when Effy asked how was it she was an expert of dark creatures. It was funny how some of the books around here were. For the most part most books written around her were always vague and iffy on many subjects like plants, but when it came to mystical beings it was a vivid as a rainbow after a rainy morning. "Take care Sir Riot," Dawn said to him before dragging Effy on her quest. After a a minute, Dawn stopped and looked around. "Okay I think it's around here somewhere. Look for something glowing," Dawn said placing her book on the ground. She started to bend a little and walk slowly looked which way and right. The girl was so sure she had spotted some buds here and she just wasn't one to admit she was wrong if she was.
