in the dark dark caves o p e n You had to give this girl credit, she did end up the the strangest of places, a cave for example. Now you ask, why would a small little red head be tucked away in a dark cave out of the way, far from the village. Her trusted horse had left her side, spooked by the nights events and so she was left until morning in this little safe sanctuary she had found. It would probably be light soon but in all honesty she had no clue. Time had just kind of stopped after she had been sitting her for such a long time.
Her black cloak was wrapped around her form but gave her little warmth. Her pale frame shook a little from the cold, her frame only warmed by her choice of clothes. Being Sunday, or at least during the day it was Effy had thrown on her favorite white dress. It looked like something would would dress a doll in, cute however with little rips and dirty areas. She liked it like that though, like a twisted, strange little dolly. Effy began to relax and closed her eyes a moment until she jumped to head a noise at the cave's entrance.

"Calm down dear, it is me Thorn. I followed your scent." She walked closer to Effy. Her eyes adjusting to the darkness of the cave quickly. "I smelled another vampire around here I wanted to make sure you are safe." She laughed. "You picked one nice of a place to be dear. You could get hurt."

Standing up as she heard the steps getting closer she allowed the thin cloak to fall from her form, it made no difference however the white material of the dress made her somewhat more visible. Nice. To the tones she heard ring through her ears Effy calmed easily, it was rather reassuring to hear such familiar tones in the damp cave. Sitting back down she brushed out the bottom of her dress from creases and glanced back up to the vampire. She would have smiled however she was a little on the cold side for that. "This place actually kept me from being hurt. We were chased by something, I don't know what but Riot bolted home and this was the best shelter near."

"As I said I smelled another vampire around here. That must have been what chased you." Thorn took her jacket off and put it around Effy. "Here dear, I don't need this. But you do." She could tell Effy was cold, but Thorn could not feel the cold. "I also came here to see if you have wanted to take my offer or not, as me takeing you in as my daughter." Thorns eyes glowed in the dark, and her pale skin did also. Thorn looked around, she had been in these caves many times, more times then not just feeding. Her eyes darted around. "So are you going to move in with me or not?"

Effy smiled gratefully for the extra layer. She bit down a little thinking about the offer. Of course she had been warned by that other vampire she had spoken to in the tavern not to go near Thorn however there was just something too interesting about the vampire to miss. That and right now she didn't exactly have much of a way of getting home. "Alright...but not 'as your daughter'." She shook her head feeling rather guilty towards her real mother. "I just...don't like the term." Offering a smile she titlied her head awaiting the vampire's reaction.

Thorn smiled. "Deal love. Just stay out the basement and have nothing to do with it dear. That is my only rule." Thorn started to walk out. "We are really not far from my home right now dear. And you should be proud of me, I haven't killed another person unless I was feeding." Thorn thought about what the girl said to her.

Effy nodded lightly and agreed however the girl wasn't one for keeping rules, her father had learned that many times over. If she had not been given that rule her curiosity would not have been spark. Slipping from the rock she put her arms into the jacket, a little bit on her tiny figure but it was comfy and warm. Grabbing her cloak she followed Thorn. With a smile the girl decided to push her luck. "Next step is cutting that out...you can always live off animals."
