The soft scratching of pen and paper couldn't be heard over the boasting men and women littered around the Tavern. Dawn growled in irritation of the noise. If it wasn't so cold and dark, she would go outside and write. She hated this place more then anything. It was two in the afternoon and so cloudy it was almost like this place was forever hidden from sunlight. It brought down a water fall of misery pouring on her. Yet despite the noise Dawn still managed to be writing at a very fast speed, stopping ever now and then for a second and then beginning again.
Zoltin had brought her into town telling her that 'she needed to get out of the library more'. He had business to do so had left her here at the tavern to die of boredom. Dawn stopped writing and scanned of her thoughts and notes she had wrote in the journal with her bright blue eyes. Her brown hair was tied up in a bun with a lavender ribbon, and she wore a white blouse, long dark blue skirt, and a over coat. Dawn crossed her legs and lifted the journal up to eye level. After reading some of it Dawn gave a vicious sneer and placed it down on the table again. She tipped her pen in a bottle of ink and crossed out a whole chunk on the page before beginning to right again. She showed no signs of taking notice of anyone except for a few sneers she would make every time she heard the word vampire along with a few of her mumbles.

Markus knew that the weather here was always cloudy and or rainy and dark. That didn't borther him. Markus then entered the tavren as he looked around and saw the people talking and carring on. He went walking by them and went up to wards the bar as he then sat down on an empty stool and order himself a drink. He never use have started this eary but for today he had and he really didn't care then drink came to him. As Markus picked it up and drink some and placing it back down on the bar.

Dawn looped the tip of the pen to form an 'L' but nothing came out. She dipped the pen into the bottle but when she took the pen out there was barely anything on it. To investigate, she looked inside to find what the problem was. To Dawn's surprise and irritation it was empty. Her left eyebrow seemed to twitch as she glared at it. Sighing, she stood up and brushed down the crinkles in her skirt. With her hands behind her back, she walked toward the bar area avoiding to glance some people gave her. She was still considered an outsider, and their kids, or Dawn's classmates, most likely told them about the arguments she had several times with several people about the existents of vampires, werewolves, and monsters.
Finally, she made it to the bar and looked over at the bartender who took his time getting to her. "What will it be Miss?" he asked her as he cleaned a mug. "Well actually, I was wondering if you had any ink to spare?" Dawn asked him. After looking at her with a curious look he chuckled. "And what would you need with ink?" he asked continuing to chuckle. As she placed her fists on her hips, Dawn's cheeks turned red and her bright blue eyes glared at the bartender. "To write, of course!" Dawn said with an irritated passion. She kind of knew what this was about. This place was still a bit old fashion, and so a girl who loved nothing more then writing and reading seemed foreign and strange.
"I'm sorry Miss Van Laman, but I doubt we do," he finally answered her. Dawn folded her arms and formed a thin line with her pink lips. "Well thank you all the same, you been a great help," she said sarcastically. The bartender didn't pick up on the sarcasm and said a 'your welcome' with a grin and walked away. She turned around to go back to her table and maybe read a book she brought with her instead, but her ungraceful self had other plans. She tripped over her own feet and stumbled back wards. Truth was she almost fell, but out of instinct she had grabbed something and regained her balance. After hearing some laughter and snickering from around the bar, she snapped back and looked at what she had grabbed.
To her utter embarrassment she had grabbed a young and absolutely intimidating looking man around the waist. With a yelp, she let go and stumbled back wards. She had never noticed the young man there before and to have grabbed him like that, even on accident, was the most awkward thing she had ever done. Dawn was always very clumsy and lanky, and stuff liked this happened a lot, but usually not to this degree. "I'm so sorry," Dawn said not knowing what else to say even though she hated saying 'sorry'. She studied him even closer now that she was a little bit more calm. Even for a place like Transylvania he looked strange. Wearing nothing but black, the young man was maybe a few years older then her. His hair was in the most unusual style being spiked up and he wore a chain around his neck. His eyes were a dark blue like the sky on a clear beautiful night. As strange and frightening as he looked, he was actually strikingly handsome.

Markus wasn't paying much attention to what was going on till he then heard a girl talk. He looked over as he watched her talking to the bartender then he saw she was leaving as he then turned back and faced the front once more. Markus then felt someone grab him around the waist. He was going to react when he stopped himself and saw it was the same girl. "It is alright. I'm fine, what about you? Are you alright?" He then asked her as he then looked her over as she was closer to him. He liked the way she looked and he was attracted to her.

Dawn nodded. "I think so," she replied. Not feeling any pain of stiffness in her ankle, she assumed she at least didn't sprain or twisted anything. The only think that might have been hurt was her pride. Happy about the fact the young man wasn't seemingly not angry, now Dawn had to do was ignore some of the chuckles still going around. She knew it would soon die and they go back to whatever they were doing and not give her another thought. She brushed off her dress and looked up at the young man. He was giving her an odd look that made her very nervous. Maybe I did annoy him after all,Dawn thought, but she didn't know.
"I'm Dawn," she said resting her hands on the stool behind her. Not sure whether she should sit or not, she choose not too. If a total stranger grabbed you around the waist, even by accident, Dawn assumed you probably deserve to have at least the persons name. "Dawn Van Laman," she added holding out one of her hands. Interested in who he might be, she hoped that he might also give her his name since she gave him his. Wasn't guaranteed thing, but most people.

Markus was watching her as he then heard what she had told him. "Hello Dawn. I am Markus Van Horn." He then answered her back as he saw her hand out. So Markus put his out and takes her hand to shake it. "You can have a seat if you like." He said to Dawn.

Dawn gave his hand a a firm grip before shaking it. "A pleasure to meet, Markus," Dawn said not realizing how her words could be taken. She took back her hand and looked off somewhere to hide a blush. AWWWW! I sound like some man crazy pervert! Pleasure to meet you, oh yes pleasure to meet him after i grabbed him. Awwww! How can this get worse?, Dawn thought hysterically. Of course her words were probably taken more as just polite conversation then words with secret meaning, but Dawn was strangely paranoid that way. She was so lost in her thoughts she almost didn't hear Markus's words when he said she could have a seat.
Placing her hands on her hip, Dawn gave Markus an annoyed look with her bright blue eyes. "I don't need your consent to sit," she said folding her arms and taking a seat anyway. Dawn wanted to run, but she was to stubborn to do that and it might make her seem weak. She looked up at Markus trying to think of something to say. "Are you from around here?" Dawn asked. She didn't know how obvious it was she wasn't, but she was told it was greatly noticeable even if she didn't have an English accent.

Markus just sat there as he watched Dawn as he then took his hand away when she had done it. He saw her look away then look back at him and heard what she had told him. "I know you didn't need my consent to sit." He told her and then seen her sit down anyway. Markus then heard what Dawn had asked him. "Yes, I am. Borning and rasied here." He then added to her.

Dawn looked down at the table. He didn't seem up for much of a conversation, but then again Dawn was still in this fluster state that was not helping her thinking progress. She wasn't surprise he was born and raised here, Dawn was the outsider so she was the one who didn't know everybody here. Markus probably was the one really wondering if she was from around her. It was obvious she wasn't judging by her mannerism, attitude, actions, and believes. The bartender was watching her with a still humorous look, which she greeted with a glare. "Some tea please," Dawn said to him. He chuckled and went to make it.
Dawn completely forgot around Markus for a moment and sighed deeply folding her arms on the bar counter. She then glanced of at him before looking down at the counter. "You don't talk much do you?" Dawn asked. He had this aura of silence around him that gave her the feeling that maybe he just wasn't a conversationalist in the first place.

"Your right, I don't talk much never really have." Markus said to Dawn. He knew she wasn't fromaround here as he saw how she acted. "So, what brings you here? What do you like to do for fun?" He then asked her as he looked at her and waited.

Biting her lip, Dawn studied the hard, anicent, and might I add moldy hardwood counter after he agreed with her previous observation. I must be really bothing him,Dawn thought to herself. At the moment, she couldn't but pity herself. Usually she would have just walked away and be gone to her junction of anti-socialness. Yet she was bothering this nice, through scary looking, young man. When she heard his voice again she looked up at him with a disquisitive look. He had already stated he didn't talk much yet he had asked a question to move the conversation on. With a small smile, Dawn decided maybe talking with him wouldn't bother him much. Besides she did need to get to know more people than her uncle and the few classmates at school she deemed worthy enough to even be looked at.
"Actully I really didn't want to be here. But my Uncle Zoltin had yanked me from the study and brought me here while he'd off doing lord knows what, the old bat," Dawn said unfolding her arms from the counter. "But hobby wise, I mostly read and write, a lot to be quite honest," Dawn finished. Reading consumed most of her time, and she wanted to be nothing else other than a journalist of novelist. "What about you?" she asked mirroring his own questions.

"Oh, i see. I just needed something to do." Markus told her. "I like to party, go on adventues and just hang out." He told her. "So, what do you read? What kinds of stuff do you write" He then asked Dawn. Most of the time he was by himself as he normally liked to be but once in awhile he would be seen around other people.

Almost not hearing the soft 'thud' of a cup against a counter, Dawn blinked a little startled and looked to see the bartender was already at the other side talking to a few others. "Party? Adventures? Around this place?" Dawn said with a chuckle. "Yes, how can you not do all those things in the exciting village of Transylvania?" Dawn said dripping with sarcasm. True there was some great places to explore, so that might lead to adventure, but party? It was funny to think about. Taking a sip of her tea, Dawn immediately covered her mouth with her hand and her bright blue eyes went large. She quickly swallowed and held the most disgusted look on her face. "Oh I highly recommend the tea here," she said in disgust pushing the cup away.
Upon his question, Dawn seemed to give a few second thought. "Well most everything actually, non-fiction, fiction and all its genres. Same thing for writing," Dawn told Markus. She loved everything dealing with books and writing and read more books in a day then a person would in there life time and became quiet knowledgeable. Though as of late Dawn had been into more with mystery novels and though she would not tell anyone folklore. If such an odd little place, she tried to understand their fears of mystical beings that didn't exist.
