Summertime will be a love-in there
In the streets of San Francisco
Gentle people with flowers in their hair
As many as 100,000 young people from around the world flocked to San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district for the Summer of Love. Sadly, this influx of newcomers is beginning to cause problems. Overcrowding, homelessness, hunger, drug problems, and crime afflict the neighborhood. But there are people who love the neighborhood. So come and join the merry pranksters, the diggers, or the Blank Panthers, or just be a free roaming hippie. Join the hippies for the greatest summer that the world has ever seen. Be friends with Janis Joplin, overdose with Manson, become a part generation X. And don't forget to wear some flowers in your hair.
